Lamination:
Lamination is a thin plastic film applied to both sides of a photograph to protect against tearing, cracking and fading. Lamination reduces oxidation, the yellow discoloration that occurs with time. It keeps photos from sticking to the glass when they are framed, and lamination resists the destructive effects of solvents, grease, and fingerprints.
Mounting:
Mounting is the procedure of attaching the photographic print onto a heavy support board, Masonite, or other type of material to keep the print flat and to protect it from being bent or creased during handling.
